Week 10

Today we had a forum discussion on the commitment and responsibilities of teachers, pupils and parents. We were asked to produce a report based on that.

SUMMARY/REPORT OF THE COMMITMENT AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF TEACHERS, PUPILS AND PARENTS

INRODUCTION

A forum was held regarding the commitment and responsibilities of teachers, pupils and parents. The forum was held by 3 groups with 4 members (one host and 3 panels). A host will ask the other 3 panels of different questions related to the topic.

FINDINGS

The issues that have been arisen and discussed were mostly related to the latecomers, students with irresponsibilities in submitting their work on time, how to increase students’ performance level to cater their needs in enhance their understanding, how to fulfill the lesson time when teachers are not around, is it important for the students to know the lessons’ objective, how important it is to know the students’ perspectives, and the importance of homework.

Feedbacks came from the panels and listeners where most listeners come from difference background (Primary, Secondary and Tertiary level) and different experiences. It is useful to hear from different perspectives because others can adapt the solutions to their problems if they ever come across with it in the future.

Not all the issues were answered with solutions but suggestions of possibilities to overcome the problem were discussed in the forum. Everyone seemed to have experience with the issues and everyone participated well with good recommendations.

CONCLUSION

It is to conclude that the forum like this is useful to enhance everyone’s knowledge and share their experience. It is also a good practice to us to increase our confidence level in answering questions in front of others. Although the time given is limited to 15 mins only but it becomes a very useful knowledge and experience to everyone.
