1. Definition of leadership and its basic styles of leadership: Authoritarian, Democratic and Laissez Faire Style.

2. Behavioral Theory in Leaderships: Types of leaders, types of leadership styles, Management Qualities & Leadership Traits, Managerial Grid.

3. Situational Theories in Leadership: Fiedler’s Contingency Model, Hersey and Blanchard’s situational leadership model and a Path-Goal Approach to Leadership.

Chapter 4: MOTIVATION:

1. Definition of Motivation and the basic motivation model.

2. Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Theory

3. McGregor’s Theory X & Theory Y

4. Herberg’s Two Factor of Theory

                a) Hygiene Factors of Dissatisfiers

                b) Satisfiers or Motivators

                c) The effects of Herzberg’s Theory to managers

2. Prepare the Management Grid (Robert Blake & Jane Mouton).

3. Explain the key ideas found within the theories of leadership:

                a) Fiedler’s Model

                b) Hersey and Blanchard Model

                c) Path-Goal Model

4. Define motivation and the basic motivation model.

5. Identify the three basic theories of human motivation

                a) Maslow’s Hierarchy Model

                b) Herzberg’s Motivation Hygiene Theory

                c) McGregor Two Theories (X-Theory and Y-Theory)

6. Understanding the function and formation of teamwork and groups.
